How to Choose Sponge Sand paper?

The high-elasticity sponge is used as the base material for the sponge sand paper, which is coated with a layer of mineral sand on the surface to maintain high efficiency in grinding while also having good elasticity. The 5mm thickness increases the product's flexibility. The sponge's water storage function can reduce the workload of flushing away debris. The different colored printing on the back makes it easy to identify the sand paper's texture.

Sponge sand paper is widely used in hand-polishing furniture, plastic product surface polishing, automobile repair paint grinding, metal rust and plastic surface treatment, and other fields. It can be reused, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly, with significant advantages over traditional sheet-shaped sandpaper, and is dozens of times more efficient than conventional sandpaper.

Sponge sand paper is a multifunctional product designed for extremely fine polishing and polishing

The soft sponge core can fully adhere to any delicate curved surface and arc. Its fine sand grains and efficient high-grinding effect can meet the high-quality surface requirements of abrasive products. It can be used for dry or wet grinding, and sponge sand  paper can also be processed into custom sizes for use on automatic grinding machines, meeting the requirements of different machinery for automated polishing of mobile phone shells and other plastic and metal products with curved surfaces.

Currently, more enterprises are willing to join the ranks of automated production to save labor time, improve production efficiency, and allow people to escape from a dusty environment. The most important thing is to give products a unified and perfect polishing effect.

Sponge sand paper selection

Have you chosen the right sponge sand paper for yourself? Sponge sand paper is a kind of belt-shaped material, which is bonded with abrasive and polishing agents to flexible materials such as paper or cloth.

Sponge sand paper is composed of base material, abrasive, and adhesive. The basic materials for furniture production use cloth and paper. Paper-based substrates use specially processed high-strength paper, which is 1/3 to 2/3 lower than fabric-based substrates in sponge sand paper. Paper-based substrates are relatively hard and can polish a high-gloss appearance. Paper-based sponge sand paper is used for fine grinding and ultra-fine grinding. The cloth-based substrate has higher strength than the paper-based substrate and is less sensitive to temperature and humidity.

As the temperature and humidity increase, it will not lose stability. The durability of cloth sponge sand paper is much higher than that of sponge paper. The China abrasives commonly used in furniture production are alumina, silicon carbide, zirconia-alumina, garnet, and hand sand paper. Glass sand is used as an abrasive. These abrasives have their own characteristics, such as rough grinding, high plasticity, large grinding surface, coarse granularity, avoidance of fragmentation, soft workpieces, etc. Fine grinding is used for precision grinding and hard workpieces. The abrasive is bonded to the substrate by the adhesive, which should have strength, elasticity, heat resistance, and water resistance. Common adhesives are animal glue and synthetic resin. Animal glue is not water-resistant, and synthetic resin has good waterproof properties. Waterproof sponge sand paper uses water-resistant synthetic resin as the base rubber and composite glue, undergoing strict waterproof treatment. Based on the substrate, abrasive particles, and adhesive effects, suitable substrates, abrasive particles, and adhesives can be selected based on processing objectives and process technical requirements.
